It's a challenge for Australia to break new ground.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a team that has accomplished all there is.

It needed up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if not provided the possibility.

In the end, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to deliver her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

If this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in training, it's been a challenging time because I feel like I've had no rhythm completely," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive instincts take over and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her key asset - and a priceless quality in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the opening delivery and from there the right-hander was in motion.

"A chance to take the field and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself that way, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was out Australia needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a sense they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
